Things are moving fast right now, and the impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus is being felt in more places than we ever imagined. From toilet paper shortages and event cancellations to the aviation and tourism industries being turned on their heads, the world is changing faster than ever.
At China Manufacturing parts, we’ve been in the thick of it for a while. We started by ensuring the wellbeing of our team in China, followed by supporting our customers through unprecedented supply chain disruption, and as of last week, by sending our team home to work virtually. Last Thursday, we held a webinar on the “Hidden Costs of Supply Chain Unpredictability”, and we saw the most engagement for a webinar that we’ve ever seen, most of which was related to COVID-19.
Let’s face it: we’re in uncharted waters right now, and it is time for leaders to step up quickly. We talk a lot about agility in manufacturing and supply chain, but it is time to be agile in every part of business, from the way our team works virtually to the way we communicate with our current and potential customers.
The speaking engagements we had scheduled at events like SXSW may have been cancelled, but we’d like to be able to tell those stories and share our ideas with the industry. In fact, with so many people working from home, feeling isolated, and looking for insight, advice, and information, it is more important than ever to share ideas and create platforms for informed debate. What I also see, and I think last week’s webinar proved, is an immediate need is for those whose supply chains are being challenged and disrupted to be able get regular updates and share ideas and insight.
With that in mind, we’re excited to launch a new webinar series that we’re calling “The Supply Chain Bunker”. I’ll be hosting this weekly panel discussion with supply chain journalist and writer Philip Stoten. We’ll be bringing together luminary guests from the industry whose experience and insight we hope will help everyone. We want this to be an informal and interactive experience, so we’ll be taking questions from the audience throughout the hour.
Join us this Thursday, March 19th at 3:30pm PST for our first of this new series. Click here to register and save your spot! You’ll only need to RSVP once to get weekly reminders by email so you can drop in and join the conversation for as long as you’d like.
